94, Passed away on February 18, 2026 due to a brief illness/complications after suffering a broken hip.
Dr. Cutujian was born in Aleppo, Syria to Hagop and Ohsannah Cutujian, proud Armenian parents who survived exile from their home country due to the Armenian Genocide during World War 1. He attended the American University of Beirut and obtained his medical degree in 1956. He came to the US in July of that year where he completed his surgical residency at St. Alexis Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his profession and children, he was equally proud to have become a US citizen in March 1966. Dr. Cutujian was profoundly patriotic and always so grateful to have had the opportunity to be an American.
Dr. Cutujian spent the majority of his remarkable career at St. Alexis until it closed in 2003. He retired in 2012, after 50 years of practice, when an unidentified illness rendered him unable to continue practicing his beloved profession.
Dr. Cutujian was an extremely dedicated physician and surgeon and medicine was his life’s passion. He was also an avid tennis player, backgammon player, and voracious reader.
He is survived by his 4 beloved children Paulette, Gregory, Monique and Mark, daughter-in-law, Kathy Vrona, and very treasured grandson, Patrick Cutujian; his dedicated and loving caregivers/companions, Ashley Walker, Jessica Asbury, Decontee Jaidah, Lindsay Bielek, and David Molnar; sister-in-law, Andrea Chianello; cherished nieces and nephews Susan Cutujian, Raffi Cutujian, Susanna Cutujian Abu Zalaf, Anusch Cutujian Neidel (Jasper), Isabel Cutujian Lubin (Andrew)and Randy Chianello (Lindsey), along with great nephews Alexander, Sebastian and Orlando, Nolan, Corbin, and great niece Olivia Leskey.
Memorial service and burial were private.
