Robert George Young

Robert George Young, age 92 of Dayton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 22, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Range); loving father of Randy (Becky) and Scott (Susan) Young; fun-loving grandfather of Stephanie Penick (Travis), Aaron Young (Rachel), Jonathan Young (Allison), Lee Young (Ellen), Ryan Young (Lara), Clayton Young; great grandfather of Caitlin, William, Brielle, Ethan, Quinn, Zoe and Ivan; brother of the late Diane Wallace, David Benedict, and Barb Saggese; uncle, cousin and “adopted” grandpa to many.

Robbie loved life, loved family, and loved the God he committed his life to in 1973. Whether at home or church, among co-workers at NCR or Delco, or in bowling, softball, golf or basketball leagues (playing until he was 60!), he was just someone people loved to be around. Throughout his life he had a knack for creating memories for others, and will be remembered for his joy, loyalty, and generosity, especially towards his sons in their calling to pastoral and global missions work. 

He will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and joyfully reunited with family and friends one day soon in Heaven.

Two events are planned to celebrate his life:

A graveside service in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio on Friday, January 30, 2026 at noon, in the David’s Cemetery chapel, 4600 Mad River Rd, Kettering Ohio 45429, and

A Celebration of Life service, will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11 AM at Word of Grace Church, 9021 Mayfield Rd, Chesterland (Cleveland), Ohio 44026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robbie's honor and legacy are suggested to The Agora Group, Global Missions Ministry (theagoragroup.org).
